Foreword
As the title indicates much of this history is from my notes taken over the years. The remainder is from stories and information given me by other woodsmen, many of whom had a wealth of information as well as interesting stories which I feel should be passed on.In such a recording of information I hope my readers will be kind enough to overlook mistakes and accept the history in the spirit in which it was written -- a keen desire, especially in the history of the early days in the lumber woods, to relate incidents that happened, also the method used in that period. Other wise these things may never be recorded and thus forgotten.
